Carolina is based in Houston, TX and built a pretty rad flat track bike. She helps organize events for the Houston Litas and workshops for other ladies in the area. If you live in TX and are looking for another babe link up with, shoot her a message!
Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside?
Born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico - where the Mariachi was born and 30 minutes from where real/original Tequila is made). But lived in Los Angeles (Manhattan Beach and Venice Beach) most of my life and now I've been in Houston, TX for the last 2 years.
How did you initially get involved with motorcycles?
I started riding quads at my aunt's ranch and borrowing my neighbors vespa. Then in LA , I was riding sports bikes with a bunch of models and one day I attended the DGR and was in the back of a bike and I told myself that that was the last time I was riding bitch! lol One month later I bought a bike (before I even had my license) and started riding my own!
When did you get your first bike and what was it?
In 2013, I got Brad. He is 1970 Honda CL 350.
What do you currently ride and why?
Now I have a 2005 Harley Sportster 1200 - I feel like that bike now is to small for me lol But Richard (my sporty) is a cool dude and allowed me to go to longer rides than my first bike.
What is your happiest memory that involves motorcycles?
Riding to Sturgis and back last summer. I got a loaner from Eaglerider and was on the road for 17 days, 7,489 miles and endless memories. From rain, to amazing landscapes and meeting the most amazing people on the road and at events.
Outside of motorcycles, tell us a little about yourself?
I am a brand strategist, and I have been working remotely for the last nine years. I create content and manage brands on and off line. I love to workout (pretty much 6 days a week), love to cruise on my skateboard and do tons of wrenching at my TankFull shop on my free time. I have four dogs. I love surfing and paddle boarding! I love going on the metro of my bicycle and take photos.
I started a non-profit a year ago called The Full Throttle.. I put together workshops for the ladies (The Litas Houston- group of which I am one of the founders), and support women in DV shelters. As a DV survivor, I want to be able to help other women that go through that, by giving them tools (literally) and help them find their own voice thru motorbikes -just like they helped me find myself.
How have you become a more confident rider? Things you’ve done to help you gain confidence?
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. and breathe when riding!!
RIDE YOUR RIDE. Don't get too cocky and always have a couple exit routes.
What is your dream trip/bucket list ride(s)?
Europe and Morocco. Bucket list AF
Finish ALL of the USA - head to South America.
Ride all the bikes too - more enduro and dirt adventures.
Build another flattrack and build flat track bike to race all of the tracks.
I just want to ride it all :)
How do you think motorcycles have changed your life?
They came into my life when other things were happening and I was feeling lost. I found myself riding. Everytime I get on the bike, I learn more about myself, and connects me with my world. It is a moving meditation, communion with something greater than myself that brings the answers to things I didn't know I needed asking. It also brought me to a community of men and specially women that are mind liked, my people, my community. I am better because of motorcycles
Do you have any upcoming motorcycle trips/rides planned?
The Litas Houston Yeehaw in October 7-9! This is our second one and I can not be more pumped of having a blast with my girls. Just got back form MamaTried! and I am heading to MotoGP, HandBuilt Show, Texas Fandango, The 1 Moto show, Born Free, Germany for a moto Rally in September -so I might have to miss Sturgis unless I get FOMO lol Nitty Gritty Chopper City and Born Free Texas!!
