Zee is one of the baddest girls in the game with her 2020 Low Rider S with a Stage 4 131 build. She is so genuine and will instantly make you feel like a friend! If you’re in the Atlanta area and looking for someone to ride with - Zee is your girl!
Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside? I was born in Gardena, CA, grew up in SLC, UT and now reside just north of Atlanta, GA near the Northeast GA Mountains.
How did you initially get involved with motorcycles? My husband introduced me to motorcycles. He bought his dream bike, a HD VRod Muscle for his 40th birthday and I only rode on the back a couple of times before I wanted to get my own. Of course I didn’t know what riding a motorcycle was like, but I just know that he looked like he was having so much fun controlling that amazing machine, and I wanted to experience the same thing. He suggested that I take the MSF course first, to learn safety and to see if I would even like riding my own. I can tell you that I knew from the moment I turned the ignition on and revved the engine, that riding was for me. There was a rush of adrenaline and excitement that I got and still get every time I get on a motorcycle. I just took to it so naturally and I went out to purchase my first ride a couple of days later after passing the course.
When did you get your first bike and what was it? I got my first bike the spring of 2016 and it was ’16 Harley Davidson Iron883 Sportster I named Black Mamba.
What do you currently ride and why? I currently ride a 2020 Harley Davidson Low Rider S, which I named Cottonmouth. If you are wondering why I named my bikes after snakes, they are actually named after the characters in Kill Bill from the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. I chose the Low Rider S because of the badass styling, the bigger engine (which I have sense upgraded to a 131 Stage 4) and the way she handles. My sportster was awesome and I rode it for over 4 years but in time knew I wanted a bigger engine and more power. I will definitely have my Low Rider S for years to come!
What is your happiest memory that involves motorcycles? I do have several happy memories over the years, but some of the most memorable was my first long distance ride with my husband to Juliette, GA to check out the original Whistle Stop Café from the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. It was about an 180 mile round trip and I had only been riding a couple of weeks. This was also the first time I got on the interstate. My heart was pounding, I was so nervous, but after a while of being on the bike at 65-70mph, I started to calm down a bit and enjoy the ride. Another happy moment was leading a group of 25 ladies with The Litas Atlanta down to Senoia, GA where The Walking Dead TV Show is filmed. It was a feeling I will never forget to lead that many babes of all skill levels and get them to the destination safely. We only had to adjust our ride one time when my GPS took us into the Hartsfield Atlanta Airport. LOL
Outside of motorcycles, tell us a little about yourself? Outside of motorcycles I am a wife, mother of three, (1) biological son and (2) bonus daughters, an executive for a regional staffing firm and a movie buff! I love to travel and experience new things and I’m always trying to do my part to be a role model for other women and help to uplift and inspire women around me. I also enjoy volunteering and giving back to the community.
How have you become a more confident rider? Things you’ve done to help you gain confidence? I definitely am one to have to just go for it when it comes to challenges. Riding a motorcycle is a risk, but the more knowledge you have about potential dangers, etc. can help anyone become a better rider. I like to watch Youtube videos and learn from other real life riders. Some of my favorites are Doodle on a Motorcycle, Her Two Wheels, Ride to Food and I even watch MotoStars where he compiles moto accidents or close calls. I like to watch these so that I’m aware of different situations and how to avoid accidents. I also want to take an advanced riding course with my personal bike someday soon.
What is your dream trip/bucket list ride(s)? My bucket list trips would include going to experience Sturgis, a West Coast trip down the PCH and also to visit Colorado and Utah.
How do you think motorcycles have changed your life? They have definitely become a huge part of my life so much so that I rarely want to do anything that doesn’t include riding! Meeting people in my local motorcycle community and beyond is so rewarding and I get nothing but good vibes from most. I also helped found the Atlanta branch of The Litas and it is has been so fulfilling to help other women riders find a place where they can meet other riders, learn, grow and share experiences with. I never thought I would be a motorcycle rider, but now that I am I couldn’t imagine not.
Do you have any upcoming motorcycle trips/rides planned? Our Litas group has monthly rides and we are even doing an overnight camping trip with a sister branch this summer. As for me personally, I am wanting to do the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway as well as a Key West trip.
