Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside?
I grew up in Salem Massachusetts 🎃 and relocated to NH Seacoast in 2019. I own a small farmhouse and a few acres of forest and stream habitat that is full of birds and animals.
How did you initially get involved with motorcycles?
I first tired to get my motorcycle license in 2009, and failed the road test and gave up for a few years. I finally got my license in 2021.
When did you get your first bike and what was it?
My first bike was a Suzuki savage 650, and I moved up to a road king classic within a few months of riding
What do you currently ride and why?
I am in the market for a new road king after mine was totaled in September 2025. Someone opened a car door into traffic as I was passing and unfortunately the bike was beyond repair. I really loved my road king and want to build another one and the same style.
What are some of your happiest memories that involves motorcycles?
My first several hundred mile solo ride to the presidential range in NH. Standing in a meadow alone watching snow covered mountains knowing I did it by myself and was confident and safe.
Many other rides are memorable. The trip to Sturgis as a passenger and really seeing how beautiful this country is from a motorcycle will stand with me forever.
Riding Iron Mountain road in South Dakota and then alongside a herd of big horn sheep was incredible.
Summer rides at sunset in Maine and NH in June as fireflies dance along fields and roadsides.
Traveling across Arizona and Utah with one of my best friends stopping at the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley is a trip I think about once a day.
Chasing an unprecedented aurora storm in may on my motorcycle was probably one of the most incredible nights of my life.
A trip I took to a giant Northern Gannet Colony in Canada last summer, where I saw a whale spout from the road. This same trip, a moose crossed the road in pitch blackness with a calf as we rode through Katahdin woods and waters. I was enthralled but then nervous once the realization sunk in that they are hard to see and the size of a small shed.
Outside of motorcycles, tell us a little about yourself?
I live a slower life these days. I’m a steward to an old property and work a lot. I have had a lot of hobbies such as scuba diving, beekeeping and even flew airplanes for a while. I bring a camera with me almost everywhere, and love to photograph wildlife and landscapes. I spend a lot of time baking and gardening. In the summer months I try to ride my bike almost every day and can’t wait until it’s warm again.
I’ve also been a hairstylist since 2008. I had a very successful business in Portland, OR and was an educator for the hair product company Kevin Murphy for 9 years. After the rough year that was 2020 I knew it was time to take a break from my career and move to the sunshine. I will be starting my hair career back up in the near future.
How have you become a more confident rider? Things you’ve done to help you gain confidence?
I ride a lot, and often on my own. I’d take my bike to parking lots and on the highway to get more comfortable. Eventually it became second nature.
What is your dream trip/bucket list ride(s)?
I would love to ride around Alaska. Maybe in a few years when my son graduates high school.
How do you think motorcycles have changed your life?
Motorcycles introduced me to many new friends who are now like family and opened my eyes to watching the world around me differently. It truly feels like freedom and meditation, and suddenly a 6 hour round trip somewhere doesn’t sound like a lot when it’s on a bike vs a car.
Do you have any upcoming motorcycle trips/rides planned?
I plan to ride to the eastern most point in Maine and spend some time observing a Puffin Colony with a ride through Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
I have a tentative girls trip planned to Vermont to go to a croissant making class on a weekend.
I am hoping to go to Sturgis this year, but nothing is planned yet.
