Jen’s bike is just as sick as she is. She crushes miles and turns heads on her custom 2019 Sportglide FLSB. If you thought you she was a bad ass before, check out rider profile and I promise you’ll like her even more.
Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside? I grew up in San Jose, CA and currently reside in Ripon, CA “The Jewel of the Valley.”
How did you initially get involved with motorcycles? I rode as a passenger with my ex-husband. I came across Babes Ride Out on social media and was inspired to learn to ride. It wasn’t until my ex dumped me off the back of his bike that my decision become concrete…like the thing my ass landed on lol.
When did you get your first bike and what was it? I got my M1 in 2016 and my own bike in 2017. It was a 2012 883 Sportster with a 1200 conversion.
What do you currently ride and why? I currently ride a custom 2019 Sportglide FLSB. I went with this bike because it was a softail set up for touring and I knew I wanted to put down some miles! I figured it was a good foundation to start with.
What is your happiest memory that involves motorcycles? Ugh so hard to answer…every time is a good time! Some moments that do stand out are definitely the special events. Like the time I convinced my bestie who had zero riding experience to buy a dirt bike in March so we could go to Babes in the Dirt in April. She totally did and it was awesome! She found out real quick that she loved riding dirt, no matter how many times we went down! We had quite the adventure to say the least. My first moto campout was the Litas Round up in Sebastopol. I camped out on a dairy farm and danced the night away. I made some amazing new riding friends. Some of the girls I met there invited me to the Fastbabes Girl’s Weekend in Joshua Tree. I got to ride through a national park and met even more amazing women. The trip there and back was the longest solo ride I’ve done. I fought through unexpected extreme winds, hail, fog, and rain on the way back home. It was the most miserable I’ve been on a bike, but I was determined not to stop. Now, I look back and can’t help but smile because it was all a part of the journey J
Outside of motorcycles, tell us a little about yourself? I’m the primary dictator to a crazy beautiful 8 year old named Charlotte. Brewer, our doofy standard poodle, is the third member of our pack. I work full time in a Pulmonary Function Lab at a hospital. Besides motorcycles, I enjoy DIY projects, decorating, and anything that keeps me active. I’m always down to try something new.
How have you become a more confident rider? Things you’ve done to help you gain confidence? The first thing that gave me confidence was taking the motorcycle safety course. The experience of riding dirt also helped with street skills and being a well rounded rider. When I first started riding I always rode with someone, mainly an ex-boyfriend at the time. We broke up and I was like great who am I gonna ride with?! I started riding on my own and meeting up with other female riders through social media. It was such a great feeling knowing I could do it on my own. Riding has helped me overcome some fears and made me realize I CAN do it. That feeling of accomplishment has given me confidence in the saddle.
What is your dream trip/bucket list ride(s)? Top of the list would be the Pan American Highway on an ADV bike.
How do you think motorcycles have changed your life? At this point in my life, I have little free time. I have my daughter almost full time and get every other weekend to play. So every other weekend nine times out of 10 I’m riding. TBH, I struggle with anxiety and depression. Besides my faith, riding has been my main outlet and therapy. It’s my time to reconnect with myself and focus on perspective. It makes me feel empowered and has given me another layer of confidence that I didn’t possess before. Riding consistently challenges me and pushes me out of my comfort zone. I’ve met so many badass women along the way and want to share my passion with others in hopes that it brings them the same joy and transformation. FTW!!!
Do you have any upcoming motorcycle trips/rides planned? So… I mentioned earlier that BRO was my original inspiration. Last year was going to be my first trip to BRO. Didn’t make it for obvious reasons. This year it’s my number one goal. I’ve got a spot for Borrego and waiting for tickets to come out for Central Coast. The Litas Modesto are hosting Wild and Free Jamboree in June. I’m usually at Street Vibrations and really hoping to make it to Sturgis.
