Jenn recently upgraded to a 2020 Low Rider S and has been going on all sorts of adventures. You can catch her cruising around LA, posting the cutes pics of her rescue Pitbull - Thelma Sweetheart and encouraging female riders to demo bikes at California Harley-Davidson.

Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside? I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I left Oz in 2010 on a one-way ticket to London; then moved from London to Los Angles in 2016.

How did you initially get involved with motorcycles? My fascination with Harley's stemmed from being crammed into the family car when I was younger. Looking out the window and seeing the Harley's go by - well it just looked like they were having a lot of fun and there was no annoying brother or sister leaning on you either! However, just as most good stories go, life got in the way and I didn't get my M1 until I moved to Los Angeles. I started riding every day in May 2020.

When did you get your first bike and what was it? The first bike I ever bought was a 1987 Suzuki 750GSE and it was terrible, and I don't want to talk about it LOL . I thought I would have time to learn to wrench but that big old hunk of junk just put me off riding and my passion ended up in the 'too hard' basket.

What do you currently ride and why? I currently ride a Harley Davidson 2020 Low Rider S. In May 2020 I purchased an Iron 1200. I put sooo many miles on that thing before realising 'I am going to need a bigger motorcycle'. I traded in my 1200 in October 2020 and have since put 12K miles on my Low Rider S. It was the best decision and I am glad I did the trade in sooner, rather than later.

What is your happiest memory that involves motorcycles? Riding motorcycles and being involved in the motorcycle community has bought me so many happy memories and lifelong friends. Memories like riding solo from Los Angeles to San Francisco mostly on the Highway 1. Riding out to Joshua Tree twice in one week. I am also super far from my family so having friends here that I consider family is very important. I am grateful for every moment on two wheels and the friends I have made because of it.

Outside of motorcycles, tell us a little about yourself? I have traveled the world and settled in Los Angeles 5 years ago. Having worked in the music industry for many years, I have seen some pretty cool stuff and been to some pretty cool places. I am an extroverted introvert who loves to help people realise their potential. Before COVID, I switched careers to be a full-time personal trainer and that was incredibly fulfilling. Now I get to help motivate and inspire people to start their riding / motorcycle journey and guess what? JUST AS FULFILLING! When I am not riding my motorcycle I am spending quality time with my 13year old rescue Pitbull, Thelma Sweetheart. Adopting her as a senior 3 years ago was one of the best things to happen in my life. My heart is full of irreparable holes but she somehow makes me feel complete..

How have you become a more confident rider? Things you’ve done to help you gain confidence? Every time I ride, I think about practicing on purpose.  Lane positioning, one foot down at traffic stops, no waddling, body position when cornering, listening to the noises my bike makes, scanning taffic etc.

Riding with others who are more skilled than I am (push outside of your comfort zone but always know your actual limits).

Putting miles on and seat time is a great way to get better.  Someone recently asked me 'how long have you been riding?'... I thought, shouldn't you be asking me how many miles I have done?

What is your dream trip/bucket list ride(s)? I moved to America in the hopes that one day I would travel coast to coast. Now I have a motorcycle - this is something I would like to tick off the list. But also, I would love to ride the East Coast of Australia. I can see that being a very tough yet incredible rewarding trip.

How do you think motorcycles have changed your life? Aside from the fact that I do not have a car, and riding my motorcycle has allowed me to get around LA so much easier...... being involved in the motorcycle community has been such a positive experience. I have met some amazing people, ridden in places I never thought I would have gone, it boosted my confidence and has allowed me to completely be myself. It has opened doors for me, just as others were shutting and helped me to realise that age should not hold you back from pursuing the things you believe to be important.

Do you have any upcoming motorcycle trips/rides planned? I am constantly planning and riding with my boyfriend and / or friends. I recently bought a camping set up so this summer will be all about finding new places to explore - hopefully as 'off the grid' as my Low Rider S allows.
